The brief
A long thin back garden behind a terraced house: thin patchy lawn, bare soil borders and nothing to draw you outside in the evening. The owners wanted a space for play, planting and sitting out.
Notes on the scheme
The illustrative plan zones the garden rather than treating it as one job: lawn for play, sleepers and planting for structure and colour, a path for access, and lighting so the space is usable after work.
